Serbia v England LIVE: Bellingham fires Three Lions to 1-0 win in Euro 2024 opener
England got their Euro 2024 campaign off to a winning start as Jude Bellingham's first-half goal was enough to secure a 1-0 victory over Serbia.
The Three Lions dominated possession for large periods of the game but found it difficult to break down a resolute Serbia defence. However, Bellingham's moment of magic just before half-time proved to be the difference.
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder collected the ball on the edge of the area and drove towards goal before unleashing a powerful shot that flew into the top corner of the net.
Serbia rarely threatened going forward but they did have a glorious chance to equalise in the second half when Aleksandar Mitrovic found himself through on goal. However, the Fulham striker fired his shot wide of the post.
In the end, England held on to secure a hard-fought victory that puts them top of Group C. They will now face Scotland in their next match on Friday, while Serbia will take on the Czech Republic.
